Kami-no-Mori Park

This 140-meter-long roller slide, which runs from the observation deck to the Chibbiko Plaza, is very popular!
In the rich natural environment of Kami-no-Mori Park is the Noson Kogei Taikenkan (Hands-on Rural Crafts Building) where you can experience porcelain-making, and the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) Hirota along National Route 379, where you can buy local specialty products at Kyo-no-Yakata.
The park has many facilities for families, such as a 100-meter roller slide, a children's train, and plaza, as well as hiking trails and a swinging bridge.

This building is recognizable from its red peaked roof. Here you can experience hand-painting on china, hand-forming, and using a potter's wheel!
The 12-sided building, built with a generous supply of local wood, is very impressive. Here you can experience hand-painting on china, hand-forming, and using a potter's wheel!
Prices are 600 yen and up for painting on china; 1,000 yen for hand-forming; and 2,000 yen and up for using the potter's wheel (clay fee for hand-forming and the potter's wheel is 3,000 yen for 1 kg for the first time; for the second and subsequent times, it is 2,000 yen for 1 kg).

Mitsumata Kofun Park

This park is used as a relaxing space, as well as a place for academic research and hands-on study.
On the southwest slope of Konpirayama Park are 27 mound graves that date from the Kofun Period. Mounds are circular and square-shape, and numerous earthen vessels, clay images and iron artifacts have been unearthed from them. It is a very important site for archaeological research.
Mitsumata Kofun Park contains square mounds and ancient buildings that were restored or reproduced in order to preserve this historically important site for future generations.
